Some people seem to be able to block out any distraction, while others find they can't work if there is even the slightest noise or other goings on. Can you concentrate on work if you have the children around?

I can't .
It messes with my head, no good at blocking stuff out.
I have to give it all my concentration.
Hi Jonaj.....
Yet another great photo, the 'look' on his face........priceless! Cheers!

My children weren't 'around' IF I needed to concentrate!

Am sick of parents' who don't bother 'controlling' their kids' in public, by letting them run around amok, & yelling & screaming like banshees.

If I have a child running backwards toward me, (happens far too often) or face on, I say 'STOP', if said child's NOT watching where they're going, & will possibly hurt me, or cause me to fall! Parent/s can get 'uppity', their bad, control your b@&&$- kids!
Shopping centre open walk areas' are NOT Playgrounds!
Not if I'm the one who's supposed to be minding them. If someone else is in charge I still find it a bit hard to ignore the noise because I'm so used to responding if they cry or want something.
No, it would completely disrupt my concentration.
I can - just ignore the kids ;)
Pardon me? I couldn't quite hear you .... wait, what was that???
I'm a WAHM - as well as doing hubgarden stuff, I am in the beginning stages of starting a doula and hypnobirthing business. I work out of my study at home. Even when my partner is supervising the children I just can't concentrate properly! I need to close the door and turn on the air conditioner to try and block out the noise! It just drives me mental.
I know the feeling! Sometimes I go to the library or a cafe to work.
That's a good idea Jennifer! I used to go out to a local café once a week to get some work done (and have someone make my coffee for me - bonus!!). I think that is a habit that I will have to get back into.

Hello Jennifer.......good luck in getting a quiet cafe! One arvo was having a coffee, nobody near me, then a man comes along & joins THREE tables together right next to me! The fact there're other areas of coffee shop available to do this, is neither here nor there, but no, have to sit right next to me! I must've forgotten to 'switch off' my 'sit next to me' flashing sign on my forehead! Silly me!

This wasn't looking good for continued peace & quiet! The balance of family arrives with hyperactive toddler & screaming baby! I promptly packed up ITablet & assorted gear, grabbed coffee cup & went to opposite end of cafe. Aah! Peace & quiet!

As for a Library, kids think it's a 'playground' & run amok, yelling & screaming, with no parental control, & Library staff couldn't give a s@&)! Very annoying!

I can't do it either. I need peace and quiet.
