Best way to eat pancakes?

The best thing about pancakes is that they are so versatile. They are not only eaten for breakfast but also lunch, dinner and dessert too. Pancakes come in many sweet and savoury flavours to choose from. What is the best way to eat pancakes? Sweet or savoury and with what kinds of toppings?

I prefer pancakes with ice-cream. Even though they can be eaten savoury for breakfast with bacons and eggs I still prefer to eat them as desserts. Ice-cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce. Yum!

I've recently started treating pancakes a bit like bread/toast and trying out some of the spreads I typically use on those. I make my pancakes with oat bran and they work well with some avocado or cashew spread. Before I tested these flavours out I always used to have them plain - most toppings seem too sweet and I prefer mine savoury.
Although I would like to try savoury pancakes, I have yet to have them. So far my favourite fillings are chocolate or lemon with sugar. The thicker the better with pancakes. When it comes to thin pancakes, you can't pick them up because they fall apart with the weight of the filling. Also, all the lemon juice just runs out. If they are thick, the juice gets absorbed. I prefer pancakes rolled up. I then like to cut them into small bite size chunks. And pancakes must be hot. No cold pancakes for me.
I used to roll mine up too, but now I make them too small for that to work. Sometimes I just stick two together though and treat them like a sandwich.
Sometimes, Bryony, I have had a few left over homemade (from scratch not using a packet of pancake mix) so I like eating those cold, with butter on them, &(sometimes jam as well or lemon butter!)

Just with maple syrup - but the real stuff, not the flavoured sauce.
I love the pancake parlour alice in wonderland, chocolate sauce, vanilla ice-cream and 100s and 1000s.
all ways! but probably with sweet filling

I've only make mine for breakfast very occasionally. I add 2 different jams, maple syrup, golden syrup, & marmalade! On each 1 I'll also have diced banana, strawberries, & blueberries They may also be nice with Nutella, & salted caramel sauce! I haven't ever served mine with ice-cream! I like that idea!
