Best family holiday?

A simple family holiday, such as staying in a bungalow type accomodation and staying close to nature. Just going on bushwalks or appreciating the simple things in life. This brings families closer together.

Queensland is always a great place to go, so much to see and do. Very short flight for the kids. Lovely beaches and they have some great vacation cares for the kids at some of the resorts they do great crafts activities with them, do games and bike riding whilst parents have some much needed time together to relax and enjoy some child free time.

I think that the best family holidays are ones where there are plenty of interesting things for each family member, from the youngest child to the oldest grandparent, as well as things that will be of interest to everyone. There should also be plenty of time to spend quality time talking or doing things together that aren't generally possible in everyday life. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter where you go or what you do.

It's nice to plan different kinds of holidays too. Family camping is a favourite of mine, as it's active, adventurous and fun. Overseas holidays are great too, though, as it's good for children to learn about and respect other cultures from an early age. Houseboat holidays are also very enjoyable, although probably only suitable for families with sensible older children.

Camping is very family-focused as all the activities (the beach, fishing etc) can be done together and it's not necessarily about the attractions or the place you're staying, but about just spending time together. Beach houses are a bit similar.

Gold Coast is a lot of fun, with theme parks and beaches and so many activities to pick and choose from. Lots of interesting places to eat. Mild weather all year round (except for the heat in the summer but a great excuse to enjoy the ocean). Going there is our favourite holiday within Australia.

The Gold Coast is great for families especially with all the theme parks, beaches and lovely weather.

A cruise seems to be very good value for money.

You can take little children, and big.... all are catered for.

It really has a lot to offer, the food is great....and something different than having everyone in each others faces in the car!

Cruse ships have come along way in the last few years, they know how to get people of ALL ages loving them.

Well worth a look into, believe me.
