Christmas is my favorite time of year for many reasons like seeing family and friends, exchanging gifts and decorating the house. But above all, I love the food! Turkey and pie and cake, there is just so much food and so may great desserts that I associate with the holidays. What's your favorite Christmas dessert?
My favourite Christmas pudding is a chocolate mousse cake with berries and a berry sauce. Berries and dried fruit are the foods of Christmas, so anything that includes these ingredients is a Christmas pudding.
My sister in-law makes one of the most incredible cheesecake I have ever eaten. The cake usually only surfaces around Christmas, and I come to think of it as a Christmas dessert. To me, it doesn't get any better than her cheesecake.
Xmas Day is all about the Plum Pudding for Dessert, with heaps of Brandy Sauce, or brandy-flavoured Custard, if you prefer. Or both, as the case maybe!
Boxing Day is for Pavlova, from the Cheesecake Shop.
Yum to both!
For most of our family Christmas get-to-gethers, we've had: Truffle, Christmas pudding with brandy sauce, custard & cream, as well as a fruit salad, made from 'stone' fruit only & passionfruit. We pour brandy over the pudding & light it, & it sends up a lovely blue flame.
