At what age did you realise Santa Claus is not real?

I am not a Christian so we were not brought up with Santa Claus or Xmas.

So even though I knew all about it from school friends, I probably never really did believe in it.

I took my children to see him though each year when they were little.

I celebrated Hanukha rather than Christmas,so this is a moot point with me!
I did take my son to see Santa though when he was little,but he never seemed to think he was real once he hit about 5 or 6 years old! My friends have always told me he was a wise old man in a small boy's body!
Having just read all that through,it almost sounds sad,but truly,it was anything but!!! I recall so much fun and laughter in my own upbringing,as well as the childhood years of my son,that Santa and Easter Bunny were definitely much loved characters,but in story books rather than in real life!!!

the Santa Clauses that I met because they had fake beards and were super friendly when they were really strangers

At six years of age on Christmas day I asked my mom if Santa was real. I recognized the handwriting on the tag that said "To Damien From Santa" as my mom's.

Obviously this was quite a long time ago, so I'm going to paraphrase a bit ;) The conversation went kind of like this:

Me: Is Santa Claus real?
Mom: No.
Me: I didn't think so. Thank for the extra gifts mom.
Mom: You're welcome, sweetie.

I would have been around 10-11, when I happened to wake up during the night of Xmas Eve, and saw mum creeping into the room,with the Santa sack full of gifts....but I didn't let on, as I have a sister 10 years younger, who was just a baby at this point.

I think I was around 11 or 12 years old. We've always celebrated santa, the Easter bunny and the tooth fairy. It's just magical seeing the looks on the childrens faces and one I wanted to celebrate until they were too old for it.

Mum told me the facts of life and Father Christmas when I was 10. I didn't understand the facts of life and so I was deeply shocked that she lied to me all those years about father Christmas and the fairies.
