A lot of us worked part time/weekend jobs when we were younger as a means of some extra pocket money.

What was your first job? How old were you when you first entered the workforce?

I had to look after my mother all my teenage life, so at 18 I was allowed.
My mother was quite unwell most of the time.
I was 15 when I got a babysitting job, and just shy of 16 when I became a dental nurse.
I just got my first job a couple of weeks ago. I'm 24. Pretty embarrassing that it is so late, when everyone else gets theirs so much earlier.
Don't worry you have done it, and that's all that matters....I really hope you enjoy it...In time if it's not right, you can always look for what you like even better. :)

I would've been eighteen. I was recommended to a student as a tutor. I've been tutoring ever since.

I was 16 it was as a cadet journalist with a local newspaper.
19 bank job would not recommend a bank job nowadays the staff are hopeless,
it is not at all pleasant when one fronts the counter after a wait, when the person decides that they had better attend to customers to be greeted with the person chewing gum? or eating an apple or something else, is she that hungry? that happens at one branch I attend at other branches of the same bank this does not happen.

Worked a month over Xmas Holidays at end of Grade X. Interesting experience, learning to deal with very different personalities', compared to other kids'.

Started work at end of Grade XII, as Receptioniste at Children's Hospital. That was for only a month pre-designated. Then did three Receptionist/Typing jobs, for a few months' until called for an I/V with Company I had applied to five months' before I finished School. This was THE job I wanted. Got called in for a 2nd I/V, at which time was advised I 'had the job'. Totally thrilled, & ended up working for THAT Company a total of 35 years!

I was extremely fortunate in that I knew what job I wanted, since end of Grade XI, went after it, & got it!
