My kids have lunch at school around 11.20am, then they have recess in the afternoon. This means they are always hungry when they get home after school. What healthy snacks do you give your kids in the afternoon?
Although I don't send my kids to school they're always starving in the afternoon and they act like a pack of locusts. I try to keep something healthy that I can just hand them on their way through, A boiled egg, or a baked chicken drumstick with some bread and butter and a bit of fruit usually keeps them going til dinner.
Celery and carrot sticks.
No drinks with sugar, just water with a little lemon.
No biscuits, Ice Cream or the like....Maybe just water Ice blocks on a hot day.
Children will act as if they have never eaten....in the afternoon, but they must learn to eat healthy, and nothing heavy.
It should look awesome! that is half the battle.
Dinner should be the time to have the more serious foods.
