I am in several art groups and a few garden groups and a terrific group that answers fix it problems...probably some others if I thought about it longer. I find that being in groups helps me to learn more about topics that interest me. I can ask questions and can sometimes answer them. I see photos of people's art work or gardens which inspire me.
I find that these two give me such immense pleasure,so I just do not need any more computer time for 'groups' really.I have emails with my good friends and these are a real joy to more than anything else on the internet.I find that being in touch with those who truly mean something very special to me,is such a gift as they all live so far away!
Yes, I think it is an excellent way to share information on specific subjects with like minded people. I belong to Birds of Oz, a group sharing photos of Australian birds, an Australian History group, and a couple of Writers groups including the weekend Notes Writers Group on Facebook.
Gayle, Most days we have 2 magpies, 3 butcherbirds, king parrots, rosellas, lorikeets, & 4 kookaburras, on our verandah railing. Some days we also have 2 other birds, & 2 to 4 miners. (The grey ones.) We love 'our' birds.
