As of this year I'm undecided. I used to hate the heat and this summer I hated it too and couldn't wait for winter, but now that winter is here I'm not that thrilled about it after we've had a few negative temperatures already.
We have only moved house in the last year and this was my first summer of consistently over 40 degree days and now winters with negative night time temperatures. Bring on Spring and Autumn!
No, NO N O definitely not glad the hot weather is gone.
I hate the cold and each year, it seems to get worse.
They say our temperatures are 20 plus during the day yet I sit and shiver even with the air conditioner set to 29 degrees!!
Cold is so unpleasant for me, give me heat any day - that lovely warm, fuzzy feeling, that CAN be relieved so quickly by turning on the air conditioning, but my body loves the heat, and I also have trouble getting out of my lovely hot shower!
Yes to everything you have said, finy :-))
If you sit still when you're cold you'll feel it more. Get up and get moving, you'll be surprised how soon you warm up.
Ah, so much easier said than done.
Nope. I adore the hot weather and always get a little bit sad when the cold season starts.
The ONLY good thing about cold weather ... amazing soups for dinner.
It's definitely the season of soups, roasts and bringing out the slow cooker!
NO!! Come back summer. I think I was a lizard in a previous life . . . I just want to be in the sun and be toasty warm.
Yes. Yes. Yes. I love the cooler weather. I shop in short sleeved tops and people constantly ask me if I'm cold. I really feel the heat so am happy at the first sign of Autumn.
Not sure which I prefer. I do not like either extreme.
I cant bear the cold weather, so I dislike winter intensely. While I must admit that it is nice to be able to sleep better since the cooler weather arrived, I am counting the days till Spring. To make matters worse, our ducted heating broke down after 26 years, and we had to wait 3 weeks for a new one to be installed. It was like an eternity, especially at night. At least we are enjoying our new ducted heating now, so it was worth the wait.
Murphy's Law :( Glad you're warm again now :-o))))
At least it didn't break down in the dead of winter, but it really was difficult. 26 years is a long time for any appliance to last these days. Our neighbour has had her ducted heating for 45 years and it's still going strong. Our new one will be a huge improvement in heating than anything made 26 years ago.
I live in heat all year round. I miss feeling cold sometimes
It's too cold! Ask me again in about five months and I'll say, "It's too hot!".
LOL Vee! You mean we are never happy?
For the first time in my memory I am glad the hot weather is over. I usually feel sad, but this year I am relieved. We do not have air conditioning and I have been suffering a lot of hot flushes lately. Not a new thing, I think I have been having them for 6 years, but so much worse this year. I had very few nights where I was able to have a good nights sleep and woke up exhausted. The cooler weather means I can snuggle into my comfy bedding until I need to discard it in my hot flush fervour. I am still having my own personal sporadic Summer.
No! I love the Summer, but even though we're only 2 weeks into Winter, it still feels like Autumn anyway. I'm still wearing my cotton floral dresses, but with leggings & a matching cardigan. (This is wear all through winter.)
I'm so enjoying winter weather. I live in Qld and felt we hadn't had cool weather in years. Don't enjoy days of overcast weather but I'll live.
I do not like the cold. I hibernate on top of the heater all day.I do the minimum of work in the areas that does not get the warmth of our heater. We still use a wood heater and will never go to a reverse airon, even if we have it. Same as I will never crawl in cold bed. Rather sleep in a chair near the heater if my electric blanket would die on me..
I love the South Australian autumn once the heat is gone. I also really like our winter. I am fortunate that I don't feel the cold that much. Of course that may change as I get older. At this point I have so much more energy in cold weather and enjoy walking. I wear layers of clothing to keep warm and have a small cosy double brick home with insulation and reverse cycle air con. Give me the cold weather anytime rather than heat. (I love sunny winter days too because the sun is pleasant, not excessive.) I feel sorry for people who are unable to get warm in winter as that must be miserable.
tHAT'S ME mARIE - MISERABLE AND SHIVERING EVEN WITH THE AIR CONditioner on 29!
Well I don't enjoy the real hot 40 degree days, or the real humid days, but this year I am really feeling the cold, it's been bitterly cold in the mornings, and I'm not enjoying that at all, spring suits me to a tee.
