Are you concerned about going to the dentist following this news?

Nothing could make me any more scared of the dentist. I have a life long fear. Luckily, I have good teeth.

Yes.

I would think this scare would mean dentists would now be more careful than ever so no, not really.
I am totally blown away that such a thing has happened!

I will be giving it sometime to get fixed, before going....Total neglect is what this is.

I am angry that people have had this happen to them....
Several years ago a popular actor contracted HIV from his dentist. Its always a risk.

I don't feel any concern when I visit my dentist. I'm checked every 4 months and can see the stringent measures they employ to ensure health and safety for all their patients.

Anything that can be disposable is and tools are disinfected after each use.

I am however, more concerned about doctors.
Touche.

Nope, still go for check-up every six months.

Or if problem in meantime, get an appt ASAP!
not the dentist, but the people who do xrays of the whole mouth of teeth the machine they use is not at all hygienic. you stand in this machine and clamp your teeth over a bar or suchlike with just a piece of paper over it when xray has been taken this paper is soaked with saliva they just replace it (question do they wipe the bar before doing this) I do not think so as when I had it done the paper was removed and another piece placed there ,being the first time I had had this done I did not know about the paper getting so wet from the saliva, I could only imagine what germs seeped through to my mouth, I did end up with a sore throat. so people beware
No I do not live in Sydney!

No, I hadn't heard about that. I only go once a year, if that. The dentist isn't covered by Medicare!
