Are you a shopaholic?

Gift shop

I must admit I don't find household shopping a chore, rather a challenge. However, I don't fall into the category of shopping for shopping's sake. Folk who consider travel an excuse to fill up an extra suitcase astound me. I think there is enough "stuff" in the world without encouraging the manufacturers. I tend to give consumables as gifts eg tickets to the theatre as a birthday gift for my grandchildren. That's my favourite way of shopping. What is your relationship with the commercial world?

Not at all. I am not the least bit materialistic and only buy what I need.
My kind of person, Tracie Louise.

I would be if I wasn't environmentally conscious! I'd buy all the jewellery and knick knacks I could stuff into my house, then get a bigger house and more storage to fit more. Luckily, my environmental conscience is bigger than my desire to accumulate more stuff!
In general no, I'm not a shopaholic, and am pretty restrained when it comes shopping. I can be quite thrifty. There are times when I sort go on a spree though. I might buy one or two things, and then I get the taste for it.
My relationship with the commercial world, as you put it, used to be glossy!

Now that I am older (I seem to say that a lot on here!), I have nagged at my children about NOT getting a skip bin when I die as I have many valuable collectibles.

I USED to be a shopaholic however now seem to spend more time doing voluntary work (though this is in a shop!) and writing on here, I don't get so much spare time, in fact I get very little spare time, so I have stopped shopping for the sake of it.

I am also not in the same financial position I was a few years ago, when I used to just spend for the sake of spending.

I am the opposite of a shopaholic. I hate shopping.
No. I don't mind going to the shops, but don't have to buy something everytime I go.

I wish I had the money to shop for whatever I liked. I think I indulge myself once in a while.
I love shopping of any kind!
BUT only buy what is needed. Don't shop for the 'sake of shopping'. That's just plain silly.

If I've nothing to have to 'get', then it's a day home, to do whatever's required, & THAT never stops in a house!

As now 'income restricted', so have to watch 'the pennies', as well!
