I have always thought your house should reflect yourself and never really understood why people use interior designers, but a friend just had her house transformed by Design Colour Plan Interiors. It really made the house seem larger and airy, though no renovation was done.

Have you used one? Did it make a big difference?

I haven't used one and doubt I would in the future. Probably because I'm too tight and wouldn't be able to let go of the money. I'm sure they'd do a good job though.
I hadn't really thought about it before but it was like a whole new house - I didn't realise how much could be done. It's quite amazing...Definitely money well spent.
I had used one while designing my dental clinic. He was really smart and sat with me and took down my views and requirements and accordingly gave me 2-3 designs to choose from. At every step we worked in co-ordination so it reflected my choice but in a professionally designed manner.
I would love to use my own creative skills to do an interior design of my house. Alas, I have small children who wouldn't appreciate the bright open spaces, so I'll have to wait a couple of years.
I haven't used but I would love to because interior designers have good sense of decorating the house.
I love decorating myself and using someone else would take away part of the pleasure. However, I do like looking for ideas and recommendations.
If I had the money, I would ask one to have a good look and see what could be changed.
I have my own ideas, but know they have some better!
I am caught in the middle of the worlds longest renovation. I do fantasise on the odd occasion about an Interior decorating fairy sweeping in and waving her magic wand!
Yes, I have used an interior designer several times in my life.

I find that when I cannot make up my mind if it is a new house, they are brilliant.
The one we had twice just came with us to the shops -he knew my taste fairly well after the first time (he remembered 8 years earlier!), and he suggested things within minutes, all of which I liked.

So I would highly recommend this, as all colours/furniture etc is co-coordinated and unless you have a flair for this, it looks so much better even though it is quite expensive.

If I could afford it sure.

For me, it'd be a total waste of money, because my Mother, who was very 'natty' in many areas, taught me extremely well, & I, too, have the ability to feel, see, & what goes together, with what.
