I have always thought your house should reflect yourself and never really understood why people use interior designers, but a friend just had her house transformed by Design Colour Plan Interiors. It really made the house seem larger and airy, though no renovation was done.
I had used one while designing my dental clinic. He was really smart and sat with me and took down my views and requirements and accordingly gave me 2-3 designs to choose from. At every step we worked in co-ordination so it reflected my choice but in a professionally designed manner.
Yes, I have used an interior designer several times in my life.
I find that when I cannot make up my mind if it is a new house, they are brilliant.
The one we had twice just came with us to the shops -he knew my taste fairly well after the first time (he remembered 8 years earlier!), and he suggested things within minutes, all of which I liked.
So I would highly recommend this, as all colours/furniture etc is co-coordinated and unless you have a flair for this, it looks so much better even though it is quite expensive.
