I think I would prefer a mandarin purely because they are so easy to eat and I can eat one while watching tV after dinner.

With an orange, although I probably like the taste of these more, I have to eat this over the sink as it makes a mess, so I guess I would rather eat a mandarin even though an orange is juicier and often sweeter.

I love tangellos.

This is a tough one. If the mandarin had no seeds, then I would take it over the orange - oo, but I do love oranges.

I like both, however prob would pick a mandarin as easier to eat. My Mum used to say one should sit in the bath to eat an orange!

I prefer a mandarin because it's smaller and easier to eat

I can honestly say that I love both as much as each other.Their flavours are so individual and different to each other. And in summer I adore them cut or segmented ,and then frozen! Yummm!!!!!
Mmm, that's a hard one because I love mandarins but only if they are sweet. Then again, there is little I find more refreshing than biting into quarters of oranges. Wouldn't it be great if there was a manderine and orange cross. I think a tangerine is pretty close but for some reason I don;t like them at all.
Love really cold fruit all year around, but choice here is mandarins.

Usually have an ice cold OJ out, though, & really enjoy it as is freshly squeezed!
Mandarins for me please. Growing up we had a mandarin tree and were spoilt with a plentiful supply during autumn and winter, in fact winter and mandarins are synonymous for me.

I enjoy all mandarins however, I do prefer the slightly tart ones than the overly sweet.

Oranges and orange juice tend to trigger headaches in me, so I avoid them pretty much all the time. I don't have the same reaction with a small amount of juice if used as flavouring in food.

One of the reasons I can bear the winter months, is for the pleasure of eating mandarins.
Mandarin every single time.
Not as big
Easy to eat and peel.....and

Great memories of a time we had them back in England, as a child as they were given at Christmas.
Wonderful smell too!

I have no preference. I like mandarins for their convenience - ready made "enclosed" segments with a peel which is removed easily (and free because we own a dwarf mandarin tree!). I enjoy oranges for their juicy flavour.
(my husband loves tangelos!)
As far as taste.. oranges. Mandarins for convenience but love the taste of oranges.

Mandarin

I have a slight preference for a juicy navel orange, but mandarins are delicious too. Whether it is an orange or a mandarin it needs to come from a tree in someone's backyard.

I can never manage mandarins. My mother used to set mandarin segments in orange jelly . . . . put me off for life. I just whack an orange into 4, then 8 and sometimes 16 segments and slip it off the skin like butter. It takes me half the time. I find the seeds and strings in a mandarin are a real battle.
