No, I don't think I would. Physically my health isn't up to it for one thing and I just prefer more comfort than a backpacking trip could give me....
As a teenager/young twenty-something I did camp at music festivals which is the closest I've ever got to backpacking. Dancing is more my thing than walking :)
The idea never appealed to me until now. I have no idea why I waited til I'm this close to 40 to decide that it'd be a great thing to do, but here I am! Planning to backpack the Silk road. You'd all better pray for me lol
I haven't been backpacking...although my partner and I travelled around (half of!) Australia a few years back - we pretty much lived out of our car for 9 months...with a few rented apartments and motel rooms, but mostly camping. I probably wouldn't go backpacking for any length of time as I don't think I could physically carry all that I would want in a backpack!
Definitely! It's a wonderful way to experience the world, rather than just to visit superficially as a tourist. I went backpacking when I was in my late teens but would love to go again, as an older person.
