Eyes give meaning to the world around us. Unfortunately, some are without this gift of sight. Would you want to give this invaluable ability to some person in need when you leave this world? Would you donate your eyes?
I would donate any organ, and have told my family.
When you are dead, you are dead, and I would be only too happy, having had a son who had a kidney transplant through someone else's misfortune, to donate to help another human.
I can't understand why we're not at the technological/scientific stage already of curing eyesight problems. I think I can part with my eyes, but I'd rather invest my tax/life savings to ensuring we have a cure or other solution that can be utilised already. The paranoid sceptic in me believes that there's too much money to be made by stakeholders/corporations, that finding a cure is too damaging to their back pocket.
