As a collector of antique and old books and publications,I see many of these truly wonderful ads. There was no TV advertising back then so the work which went into the printed ads was stunning,and/or clever beyond what we see today with all the computerised help which agencies use in every aspect of design. All the artwork in this beautiful old ad is hand done by a very talented artist and the copy has been written to appeal to mainly yound ladies who are about to start their own families and will be interested to see what great value and results can be had from the product being described.People DID actually buy products from what they perceived about them in the printed ads back then,so the ads were fabulous. I would definitely have been drawn to this soap by the attraction of this ad if I was alive when it was in print!
Lovely, lol. I don't buy Palmolive, and I don't pay much attention to ads. Although it's lovely, I can barely imagine an ad like this being used today. I don't believe people would pay attention to it because it requires too much focus and time to read.
Nope. Wouldn't buy it. My mother taught me never to put soap on my face. Only use water to wash it and moisturizer daily with witch hazel to cleanse. I still have younger people asking why I have no wrinkles and what do I use on my face.
