It is a tradition that many people still keep up with while others give up when their own children reach a certain age.

Will you be handing out sweets/lollies to Trick or Treaters this year?

I used to think it was a horrid American thing and avoid it like the plague but we moved to a neighbourhood where everyone goes trick or treating and I discovered that I really love it! It's a great community activity. So yes! We have a stash of lollies in anticipation!
No.
We do not follow this American tradition.
We buy sweets in case we get trick or treaters at the door. It's typical though - when we forget to buy them, we get trick or treaters, and when we do buy them, we don't get any.
When the kids were a bit younger I found it annoying because the trick or treaters came around as I was trying to get them to bed and woke them up. Might participate this year though.
We do leave a bowl full of sweets on our door step as we do go out trick or treating ourselves..and oh , we also carry a big bowl of lollies to treat the fellow Trick or Treaters on the road!
I'll be taking my son, sisters and cousin Trick or Treating this year, so no.

Living in an apartment building with an intercom system I doubt I'll get any, but have bought some chocolate bars just in case. As a kid Halloween was the one holiday I really wished we'd pick up on in Australia. Getting dressed up with your friends and family, seeing everyone out and about having a good time - it seems like so much fun! Don't want to dampen the spirit of any kids who do try to get into it :-)
I won't be taking any part in this tradition, whether to go out or handing out sweets/lollies at any point.
No. Don't believe in that part of Hallowe'en.
Did NOT let my kids' participate.
