Why is following bad habits easy than following the good ones?

Although I'm not as attracted to the idea of smoking as I once was now that there isn't s James Dean equivalent puffing away at one seductively in the movies.

Bad habits are often pleasurable, so how do we decide they are bad? Interesting question but difficult to answer.

It's so similar to going for the bad guys - you always want something that you know isn't good for you, but feels so good nonetheless.

Human instinct?
Its de-stressing, gives a feeling of security, various reasons. Forbidden fruit is always more attractive, isn't it?
It's human nature to be tempted by what is not always good for us. Same with some women being attracted to "bad boys".
