These were not really comparable as one was a single person and the other a group of 4 !!! They both were great entertainers who deserve the recognition they now have. If I had to choose though,I think I would go with the Beatles, only as they had the talents of each member which brought a fresh aspect to what they did!Lennon ans McCartney were such a great,as well as prolific, songwriting team, and I don't think the world has really ever quite seen the likes of them. But THEY were NOT the Beatles, only half of this much adored group!!
Although I love music in most forms, I was never a fan of either The Beatles or Elvis. However, I have loved some renditions of Beatles songs done by other artists, so I'll have to go with the Beatles as the better of the two.
Well, It would have to be...The Beatles I went to a Beatles concert in '63, at The Stadium. I thought they were just FANTASTIC. & I screamed & screamed as they sang. I had a very small bedroom back then, with The Beatles pictures over 2 walls, as well as on the ceiling! I'm afraid to say I didn't even like Elvis until he died. Isn't that strange??? No idea why that was. I used to watch all his movies on tv before he died.
Elvis!!! Do I need to say more? Elvis was SO versatile! The Beatles were great but, let's face it, a lot of their music sounded the same. Prolific songwriters, I agree. Elvis was unique in that he had such a beautiful, sexy voice for ballads but was also, without doubt, The King of Rock!!! And everything in between. You've got to love Elvis' Gospel albums!
I was always in love with Elvis and then about 20 years ago, I read 2 books on his life and I fell out of love with him rather quickly.
I liked the beatles as they were so popular when I was growing up or rather grown up enough to be out at dances and enjoying their music.
