family, chrismas

Christmas is meant to be a family time, but not everyone has a family or gets on well with them. Some family members may even live far away. Do you spend Christmas with your family, or do you spend it with someone else?

My family. The best. My boyfriend will be flying overseas this Christmas to spend time with his family.
I spend it with family. There is a huge difference between family Christmases of today for me and my husband from what they were years ago. Then the extended family went as far as the second cousins twice removed, but today it is immediate family of daughter, her husbnd and two children. I find this more meaningful as you have more time for each other. You don't have to worry if Auntie Flo is over the limit or Cousin Jack is arguing vehemently with Grandma.
True, there definitely less potential for drama and more time for hugs.
My immediate family, and sometimes neighbours who are kind of like family to us. I wish we could get together with more of our extended family but they're scattered to the four winds these days.
Definitely with family. The more family members, the merrier it always is!
I spend Christmas with my dad's side of the family - my grandpa and great aunt. My mum's side live further away, so we just send greetings over the phone.
I am very blessed that my middle son who is married Always has me over to their house. and if others wish to join they do...
This year I am asking if we can have (as we once did before my ex husband and his wife).I get on very well with his new wife, and with him.
Christmas is a time of joy, and love .
My mother, 2 sisters, their husbands & their kids every 2nd Christmas, then a daughter, her lovely partner & his family in Melbourne the other Christmas. We see the grand children a day or 2 after Christmas, & give the kids their presents in the park, close to their house. Sometimes, if my sisters are going elsewhere for Christmas, we'll have an early Christmas with them, & then fly to Melbourne, about the 22nd Dec, & stay a week.
