A tiny bit of salt on the chips. Nothing on the fish (no lemon or vinegar) unless the fish isn't worth eating and needs a bit of "doctoring". No vinegar on the chips as I think it makes them go soggy.
Hot fish and chips, in winter on a terrible day, in the car at the beach. Just all cozy and comfy and safe and warm and well fed. Heaven.
Yes definitely but not that disgusting sour white vinegar. Has to be brown malt vineagar. In the UK it is there to help yourselves!! Whenever we go for fish an chips I have to take my own with me here in Oz!!
Yes, I have recently started putting Apple Cider Vinegar on the chips. Quite a different and healthier version of vinegar... I also put Pink Hymalayan Salt - it's full of minerals and you don't need as much as traditional salt.
I rarely eat fried food, but when I do I ask for no salt. I like lemon juice on the fish, but don't like my chips to get soggy, if they get a splash of lemon I quite like it.
If I eat salt and vinegar flavoured crackers or chips( crisps) I enjoy the combination.
