Four years ago at LAX airport when I needed to call my husband to let him know that we had reached safely.
A couple of months ago, my kids and I were walking on St. Kilda road and we spotted a public pay phone. I stopped and showed the phone to my children and told them this is how it was done a long time ago. They spent about 15 minutes playing with it and thought it was archaic that you had to stop and talk rather than talk while walking.
I don't think there are that many public pay phones around any more. I see them at airports, but at other places, they've almost vanished.
