The weather is just starting to improve in the UK and over the Easter weekend I enjoyed my first BBQ of the season.

I've always had and grown up with charcoal BBQs but with a growing family I could do with investing in something larger.

I'm considering purchasing a gas BBQ. What do you think is best, charcoal or gas?

I have a gas BBQ - a little Weber that's absolutely great. Their BBQs have been around for ages - I still have a Weber manual from the late 70s! Gas is far cleaner for cooking, and allows the taste of the food your cooking, to shine.
I think a charcoal BBQ gives the food a better flavour

We have both a gas barbecue, and a fire pit, which uses charcoal. We never use the gas barbie, and it was pretty much a waste of money getting it. The fire pit suits our needs, and we all like to sit round it in the evening when it gets cooler.
I would have to say gas. Charcoal can leave a bitter taste!
I have no idea - The BBQ expert in my family is my husband. He is happy with his gas BBQ!
Definitely charcoal. Yum, BBQ!

Gas is good for cooking, but nothing beats that charcoal taste.
Have used both, and have not been fussed with the quality of the cooked meat afterwards.
