Depending on what I've been doing during the week, one of my favourite things is to go bushwalking. It gets me out of the house, doing something that's completely different to work and very relaxing. If I just feel like hanging at home, then reading a good book and having a fire in the backyard in the evening are pretty good too.
These are things I could do every weekend, provided the weather is right. But as much as I can, I also try to experience something I haven't done before, like going to a new art gallery, visiting the zoo, or having a picnic in a new park.
Weekends for me tend to be family time. Often we'll do favoured activities such as swimming, the beach, picnics and the park but most often we'll try to look up new things to do and experience. We'll check out Weekend Notes, and the local papers and see what markets and festivals are on and head out to check out the action. Being all together as a family, and seeing our friends is a really special focus for weekends. Shared fun always seems to mean more fun.
