We all love taking photos of the lovely, yummy dishes we cook. But surely we all have cooked bad-tasting, burnt, under-cooked food. Something that deserves to hit the trash can and not the dining table.
Which is your worst culinary creation that stays in your memory always?

Once I tried to make 'Sushi'!!!
My son was nine at the time, and knew sushi very well.
On seeing mine, and tasting it he was laughing quite hard.

I won't say how bad it was but ....I know now, I can Not make it!
It did look bad, I have to admit.
I cannot remember any really bad dishes, but perhaps a quiche I once made as it did not set, and was watery and runny, and I had to throw it out.

Actually there have been some kitchen mishaps. But the worst was when I was making a pasta in green sauce. It had spinach and parsley and stuff. The sauce was so yuck. It went straight to the bin.
It's a toss up between a terrible potato curry and a pasta with avocado and macadamia nuts. We had to throw them both out. Total waste, I know, but they really were not edible.

I tried to make Nigella Lawson's version of kedgeree once. The instructions are to cook the rice in the same water the salmon has been poached in. I wasn't convinced, but figured it was best to follow the recipe (Nigella knows what she's doing right?). It was the worst tasting thing ever. Just a really strong taste of salty fish throughout the whole dish. My husband and I both spat it out, and even my dog refused to eat it when I tried to give it to him. We still laugh about it now, years later!
A birthday cake for my mother. It looked absolutely perfect as it rose beautifully in the oven, but as the cooking time neared its end, I noticed a rather toxic smell... I'd used salt instead of caster sugar in the recipe... hence the cake tasted like poison and I had to start again.
