Autumn is here in England and its arrival also heralds the start of the cold season - sneezing, coughing, sore throat, generally feeling miserable...... So what do you consider to be the best remedy for a cold?
Garlic, vit c, and colloidal silver. High doses of all three at the very first sign of a cold and you can normally stop yourself from getting it. But you have to take heaps, and recognise the symptoms early enough.
I don't waste my time with young picky eaters and garlic, I just take it myself. You can however put a pair of socks on, put some garlic on his feet then another pair of socks over the top before he goes to bed. That way he gets the garlic without having to eat it.
Would he drink it in milk? There's always the garlic milk drink, I quite like it, but it might not be the thing for fussy eaters.
Ah then I shall just stick to garlic for me.....
I struggle to get the young chap to wear anything in bed, never mind two layers of socks! Even as a baby, he would prioritise removing socks over just about any other activity.....
And he rarely drinks milk of any kind, the thought of persuading him to drink garlic milk! Oh my....

I have always just pumped in lots of vit c but these days that doesn't seem to be enough. There's also a limit to how much vit c my son can take before he gets the runs....... but he is still coughing and snotty! A spoonful of honey before going to bed seems to help reduce night time coughing but something else to speed up getting rid of the infection would be good.
A hot lemon and ginger drink actually worked a treat for me last time I was sick. Just grate some ginger, squeeze some lemon add boiling water and enough manuka honey to make it taste nice and sip away. I also add garlic to EVERYTHING especially during cold and flu season - I put it into mashed potato, or roast some in the pan with the vegies, add it to spag bol everything I possibly can!
Warm milk with turmeric powder ( make sure it's pure and not color) mixed in it right before I sleep. I used to hate it, but I took it once and felt so much better next day. Since then , I do it for 3-4 days or until I feel better when I am suffering from cold .
