Jonaj -is a long story but basically one of my own 150 kg animals jumped me from behind and was sitting on me -the dog went absolutely crazy and made noises I have not heard a dog make before -it was sort of like a scream but quite weird -the animal got scared and ran off leaving me with crushed vertebrae in back, ribs all broken in several places, plus more -i am lucky though -I can still walk-a lot I cannot do and had to give up farm, but lucky nevertheless I had the dog. When the ambulance came (I had a mobile round my neck) I said i would not go if they didn't first drive the dog back to the house -they said they didn't have time and I said I will not go then and eventually they gave each other a strange look and took the dog back to the house.
This is a shortened version of story!
Best surprise I received from my husband 2 years back. He came from work before me and decorated our home and got a cake, card and a heart shaped box which was stuffed with numerous gifts. He actually went shopping in his lunch break for pendants, ear-rings, cosmetics. It was a big thing for my husband hates shopping.
Got too many - from affectionate parents, loving siblings and much loved partner and obviously friends along the way! Too many to choose from.. but the unconditional love I got (& continue to get) from parents and partner are the true gifts ever!!
To others' this may seem a 'strange' gift, but for me, it was THE most!
About four years' previously, I had started learning to horse-ride, at a very young age.
When my parents' realised it wasn't just a 'fad' with me, they bought me a set of plaited leather reins! They're so comfortable to use & have strength in 'pulling-up' power!
So each birthday & Xmas, then on, got a horse-related item. Saddle Blankets, Headstall, Saddle, gallons of liquid Leather Care! I was in heaven!
That was over fifty years' ago, & I'm still riding.
Never did get over being the typical 'horse crazy' girl! But I love it still!
