Unless I'm driving a SUV or a vehicle that gives me an uninterrupted view of my surroundings, I find anything very disturbing, more distracting. Because I'm afraid I might not be able to see something that may cause an accident.
How about others on this forum??
And how many of you know that it's actually illegal in some places e.g. Michigan?
In WA it is illegal to have anything hanging from your mirror: (http://www.transport.wa.gov.au/mediaFiles/licensing/LBU_DL_B_DriveSafePart1.pdf)
Even without it being illegal, I find it distracting to have things hung off my mirror as they sway around when you're driving and it gets in the way of your view. I was in a taxi recently, and the rear view mirror was literally covered in beads and a Hawaiian lei garland. I think I'd be very distracted by all that if I was driving.
Oh I'm glad you share my views. You'd be amazed at what I've observed in some cars.. a bunch of plastic grapes, feng-shui chains, birds with feathers and last but not the least cross or religious symbols with flowy ribbons around them.
They get me wondering how they even manage to see the road with those sort of things.
No. I hate anything hanging there & it's quite a distraction.I can't understand folks hanging religious icons there as if even if you drive like crazy fool you gods will protect & save you.If there is god then how come he or she would protect such selfish worshipper ! In case of an accident due to their faul they still expect to be saved with no regard or remorse for the fate of other injured party. Some dumb idiots even have a kind of shrine on a dashboard.I'd love to rip those apart... As long as the law here won't make it 'illegal' there's nothing we can do about it.
I also see it as a distraction and a risk maker. I could not think if anything more annoying that somethings swinging from the mirror when there is so much to keep an eye on when driving. I'm not surprised its been make illegal in some countries and states. Good move. And the day fluffy dice became out of fashion was a good day. Old enough to remember that one!!
