It is one of the most ridiculous, false, shows I have ever attempted to watch. I only watched about 5 minutes of one of them and that was quite enough.

How anyone could marry someone they do not know (if it is not their custom to have arranged marriages, and even they, have generally met the person before), is beyond me.

How anyone can watch this is also beyond me - apparently it is fake anyway and they are not really married? Though I do not even know the format of the show - the previews are enough to put me off!

With my apologies to anyone who watches and enjoys this!!!

Finy the advertising and the title work against this program in my opinion.
The couples are matched using several different scientific tests and psychological profiling. They have a wedding ceremony, which is not a legal marriage, and only an elaborate first date. Afterwards they go to a hotel for wedding night. The producers of the show like to hype up this asspect of the show, but most couples sleep separately.
If this was on the ABC and promoted differently and looked at as an interesting social experiment, instead of a commercial channel where the producers try to make out it is something raunchy I think it would have a differnt audience.

I find it interesting to watch people interact, this is another form of just that.
Set up a fake wedding...and see just 'how' it plays out.

Watching human behavior was my job years ago, so its no surprise that this is a window into it.
Sure a lot is set-up....but a lot isn't, and that is where I find it interesting.
Not everyone's cup-of-tea.....but I do feel it tells a little story, about people who feel they have to go and do this crazy stuff.!

Craziness! Madness! Idiotic! Senseless! Waste of my time!

Worst, it's not even a part of their culture as it is in some parts of India.
I've watched this and it's a show using people as guinea pigs for medical studies. I think it's cruel as it takes a long time to really get to know some one. I hope these people that go on the show get paid decently for this experiment.

I absolutely love it, and my daughter and I watch it together. It is not a TRUE marriage, but it is introducing the couples to the CONCEPT of marriage. Many people don't go into a relationship or a marriage with eyes wide open. They are more in love with romance or lust. They learn about living together, getting along together, negotiating and compromising. All the stuff you are supposed to do when you are married. They learn a lot about themselves and the other person along the way. It is like a practice marriage to make sure you are ready for the real thing. Most aren't able to cope with it, but every season there is at least one couple who have stayed together for over a year. It is supposed to be based on science and psychology, to help you find your perfect match. Theres more to it than meets the eye. Human behaviour is interesting as even with science, sometimes it doesn't work out. It would be hard to live together and meet each others family, etc, with all those cameras watching, not to mention millions of tv viewers. It is amazing how hard these couples give there all to make it work. If these couples can make it work under these circumstances, then maybe the viewing public have a lot to learn from them.
good points Lluxi!

Well said.

No, I haven't. Not interested. UGH!
I believe that if you want to be able to discuss a program you need to watch at least one whole episode. People who say something is rubbish then when asked say they have only watched a small part or none, aren't being fair.
I watched it, thinking it was going to be absolute rubbish. BUT- I like it! I don't think the title or the advertising do anything for this program. I found the relationships and interactions very interesting. The team that match the xouples use science to try to make a good match and I am amazed how well it works.
No I haven't watched it, only seen he advertising for it. We're watching SBS at the same time anyway.

Yes I have watched and I think its different and interesting.

I've watched some of it and found it interesting how some of the couples act together. Some show selfishness and others their distain for the other person. I wonder how much self confidence they have, or is it more a matter of not having the time to spend looking for a suitable partner?
Most people on the show have tried to find a suitable partner and are ready to settle down, but having had no luck on their own, go to the scientists for help.

Sorry,I have never watched it,as I am simply not interested at all. That is about all I can say about it.....
I can't say I have watched it. From the ads, I gather people get married upon meeting each other...or meet upon marrying each other. If they are actually married and are expected to interact as a married couple, the show makes a complete farce of marriage as a sacred institution.

Never watched it and never will. From what I've read seems to be geared towards the lowest common denominator audience.
At first glance I am not into reality shows, but after reading Lluxi comments made me think about her point of view, vey interesting. Maybe watch one episode to see what it is all about.
Hi, Neat post. There is an issue together with your site in internet explorer, may test this IE nonetheless is the marketplace leader and a huge part of folks will leave out your magnificent writing because of this problem. keakedddecda
love it .....

No I wouldn't even think of doing this, I don't know how you could marry someone without knowing anything about them,I wouldn't fancy having my dirty laundry aired to the public.
I think it's silly, I would rather see a good movie than this rubbish, really! what next?
