This is a new app not yet available in Australia where you can have a Video Visit with a board-certified doctor immediately, from the comfort of your couch! Itís free to sign-up - with no subscription fees. Doctor visits are only $40 US, and doctors can diagnose and treat many medical conditions.

The Doctor On Demand medical staff is rigorously screened and trained. They focus on your care, with no interruptions or distractions. Simply download the Doctor On Demand app, tap a few screens, and youíre instantly connected to a doctor in your state for a Video Visit.

Doctor On Demand is perfect for mild infections, cough / cold / allergies / flu, pediatric questions, and Rx refills.

Would you use this if it comes to Australia?

I think this is a terrific idea for minor things where you could even show the dr being on a programme like Skype.

It appears cheaper than going to the Dr and you do not need to leave your home.

I believe they can also send prescriptions should you need anything.

However -I would only do it if I could have my own doctor which at this stage would probably not work.

However I do look forward to it coming to Australia as it should free waiting times at doctors and hospitals a bit.

Finy, there's a phone number you can call to talk to a registered nurse. I've used it many times. Quite helpful after hours when you can't get to a doctor.

Hmmm I don't know. How could the doctor make a proper diagnoses just by viewing the patient on a screen and by judging symptoms only? They couldn't do ear or throat check, or listen to your chest. It's a no from me.
I think it's a good idea. There are some issue which could definitely be dealt with over video. There would still be some issues that you would need to be physically present with your doctor though

I live a five minute walk from my doctor.
So I have no need, unless?
My doctor has gone home.
Yes, I would use it.
I think it is a brilliant idea.Just brilliant :)
Not sure....have to wait and see

I am so technologically ignorant, that I have no idea about most things connected to computers!! I would prefer to see real people and read REAL books than use a computer!
Never say never but right now I'd have to say no. I think a doctor can tell more from seeing you personally.
