I haven't yet had breakfast this morning, but yesterday was my "diet day" and I had 10 g of Special K with 30 g of full cream milk!
Not a lot as only have 500 calories each Tuesday.
Today I will have muesli (Jordans) with Special K and a bowl full of full cream milk...I have cooked breakfasts generally only on Sundays for some reason as am retired and all days are similar
They are not steamed and rolled, they are just chopped in half basically. Supposed to be better for you than rolled and processed. I am trying them out and I quite like them . . . even though it looks like I am eating horse food. LOL
I usually do not have 'breakfast' until 9.30 or 10 each morning. I do have a cup of tea when I get up at 6 though! But getting back to my breakfast I usually have a 'Be Natural' Berries and Currants Muesli bar with a cup of tea. These have 5 different grains and no sickly sweet stuff at all in them, just grains and fruit!!
I used to have the delicious Jordan's Muesli, but my appetite is very light ,, so I have found these bars just the right size for me, and they are VERY similar in taste to the Jordan's!! I often will also have a piece of fresh fruit as well.
I haven't had breakfast yet today, but I have it ready and waiting. It is a version of Bircher muesli. We mix a natural muesli with rolled oats and each night put it in bowls with milk to soak. It is delicious. I have just bought some Acai powder and added before soaking yesterday but wasn't keen on the colour, so today I plan to add it just before I eat it.we used to have a cooked breakfast on the weekend but we both love the Bircher muesli so much that the only way we can make weekends stand out is to add extra berries and or natural yoghurt.
I love Asian style rice porridge for breakfast. Last weekend my sister cooked a Kylie Kwong recipe of crispy fried egg on a bed of rice garnished with incredibly tasty variety of herbs, coconut, and sauce. Yumbo!
I don't normally eat breakfast but usually start the day with a cappucino. When we are on holidays though and have all the time in the world I will indulge. That fried egg does look very tasty, jusy as I like it sunny side up. It's tempting.
Nat_c, you forgot to mention what you had for breakfast. Eating only 1 meal a day isn't telling us what you had for breakfast. Lots of people are on the pension, but they still manage to eat 3 meals day.
I also forgot to mention, the bottled cherries, 1/2 a banana, & paw-paw. (The yogurt is home made) All this takes about 15 mins to get ready, then I take it back to bed, eat it while watching iview shows on my laptop.
