What are the signs that your monthly menstrual cycle is coming?

monthly menstrual cycle, pmt, monthly periods
Yes, that time of the month. One of the signs anyway.

How do you know when 'that time of the month' is coming for you? Are you one of those lucky few who is able to keep a diary, and your 'cycle' is fairly regular, if not on time? Otherwise, what are the other cues? Face and/or back breaking out? Stomach pains? Craving sweet and sugary foods?

Besides the obvious symptoms like abdominal cramping, bloating, sweet cravings, and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde style mood swings, I know I'm a few days out when I start going to bed really early, finding I need more sleep than usual. And then about an hour before onset, I get a wave of tiredness where I could literally fall asleep at my desk or standing up!
A day or two before I wake up with lower back pains every time!
Unfortunately for everyone around me, I get tired and cranky. While I also crave chocolate, I actually feel better if I eat more healthily but it's not always easy.
Get cranky, better appetite (eat a lot more than usual), and crave for spicy food :)
I get acne - on my face and back. Then those wonderful hormones calm down after my two-day cycle ends. The stomach area can also feel quite heavy, and those sweet cravings (chocolate) also occur. Thankfully no pain and no mood swings or stress.
My boobs become sensitive. Unfortunately this could last 1 week before that time of the month!
Me too, and I can't stop scratching those itchy nipples. I also get a bad hormonal headache about a week before the period comes.

Speak of the devil, I feel they're coming on now, as pimples and junk food has hit the richter scale at an all time high, and a bit early too. They're trying to come out. That heavy stomach feeling again. What can we do to make them come when they're meant to come? What I have done in the past, and they come immediately, and get out of the way as quickly as they came in:

1. Go to the gym and engage in an intense workout like Body Attack
2. Acupuncture
3. Massage
I can tell from the phase of the moon. My bleed always comes at the same point in the lunar cycle so I have a handy reminder in the sky.
Don't have to worry about this sort of thing any more (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha)
But back in the day, a full week of homicidal mania ruling the house plus headache (migraine). And then when they arrived (always on the dot of time) euphoria and wondering why people had the irks with me.
