My partner and I go to lunch/dinner dates out in town, or plan a day trip once every three months owing to limited access to transport to go great distances, but we often find ourselves stumped on ideas of things we can do together without costing us a fortune or being too monotonous an activity.
Well your picture of two people holding hands as the sun go's down is one.
Try and get to the beach at say 7:30 PM! find a nice spot, and just have a drink and few nibbles...Listen to the Ocean.
You don't have to talk, let the beach do that....it is one of my most favourite things to do on hot summer nights.
There is something quite amazing, as you watch at night the waves come in....and listen to them. Few people do it, they all are home watching t.v.!
Take a blanket, and just have some quite downtime together, that costs very little.ENJOY!!
Picnics together can be nice if you've got time to do the planning - pick a great spot with a lovely view and pack up your favourite treats for a twilight picnic. Go cycling or take up a sport together. Walks in an area you like can be lovely. Planning for the future is a nice passtime for couples if you're getting "serious".
You don't have to spend much money to have a good time.
Often hard with kids, but try to get some alone time when they are busy or gone to bed, and really engage with each other. Even if it's just over a drink or nightly dinner. (So no dinner in front of the tv!)
