What are some good suggestions for an unforgettable hen's night?

Many women like to spend their last night as a single person having fun with their best girlfriends. Whether it's as tame as a high tea or creative gathering, or something a little more boisterous, it should be a special time that you'll always remember and laugh about. What are your suggestions for a hen's night that you'll always remember? What did you do for your hen's night?

I did a bit of work for a wedding magazine, and as a result I've done quite a bit of thinking about hens nights. Personally I prefer the high tea style option. I can't think of anything I'd like less than being dragged along to a male strip club, but its probably because I'm not the sort of person who goes out partying too much anyway.

A good chance to enjoy a get together with friends before getting married is much more up my alley.
For my own hen night I did a spa day with a close girl friend and then with a bunch of my friends we went to an 80's theme night with meal and dancing and that was a blast. However, my friend recently attended a hen's night which was all based around an life drawing class complete with nude male model. It wasn't tacky like a strip club (my idea of hell on earth) but it was apparently very good for a giggle and they had drinks and nibbles there too.
I like options where you get to have a good natter to your friends and talk about the impending big day and other life matters. Throw in a glass of dry bubbly and I'd be a happy girl.
The hen's night should definitely be suited towards the bride-to-be. Some would love going to a bar or nightclub while others would prefer a girls weekend away in the country. If you are the organiser then you have been given the job as you know the bride-to-be very well. So trust your instincts and create a fun filled and memorable night that is suited to your best friend.
I think it could be as simple as a sleepover with friends. Something that you might not get to do when you're married with a family

I like the idea of a Hen's High Tea and pampering session. The last Hen's night I attended had life drawing class (so much fun) and a fortune teller (also fun).

Quite a few dance school offer hen's night options...a fun alternative to some of the other, wilder alternatives. Colourful, exuberant dance styles such as bellydance, Bollywood or cheerleading would probably make the most fun evening. Psychic reading parties might be fun too, where a clairvoyant comes in for fortune-telling. Otherwise, hiring a cosy cottage in the country and just spending a night in, chatting with your closest friends would be a fun...and much more affordable, night.
I throw High Teas for friends, and they are
Fabulous!!!!

Asking each lady to bring a plate of small cakes or dessert, and sandwiches.

They love being involved, and I buy a punnet of edible flowers from my fruit shop (I order a week before) Pick up day of party... and they get placed all over the food.

It is just wonderful.

Oops sorry about the second one.

Never had 'Showers', or 'Hen's Night', & my future husband didn't have a 'Buck's Night'.

We just didn't believe in them, for any reason!
No, I've never been to 1, as they just weren't 'done' in my day! 1 idea for girls living in Sydney Au, might be a Harbour Bridge climb, & a drink at a pub, afterwards, in the Rocks.
