I only have one and he's a boy! It amused me enormously when I was pregnant to think I had a penis growing inside me...... I used to giggle so much during scans that the consultant couldn't get a decent picture :)
I was only able to have one beloved child. He is a boy and I always somehow knew this would be the case as my ex always got his own way!!!! Hee Hee!!! Just kidding! But I must say In had no idea what to do with a boy as I had been surrounded by females all my life, apart from my darling Dad!!! My bridesmaid had a girl and felt a similar dilemma. We would often joke that we should swap babies!!! I am thrilled to bits with my son though,as he is a very thoughtful and considerate man with a real passion for his career as a chef,as well as not having any problem showing his feelings towards others.
My first born was a boy - but then, just before being born - turned out to be two boys. I had knitted a whole white ensemble for a baby, when I found it was 2 - I gave the ensemble away, I wasn't going to knit 2. Haha.
Oh! Norma, that must've been absolutely devastating for you, to go through a pregnancy, & then lose your baby........
Good when one has a boy, though. My firstborn was a 9lbs/22half inch boy, who's now 6'5", & takes great delight in patting his 5'9" Mother on top of my head! Boys will be boys! Lol!
When I was at work & about 18,years old, I remember saying, “If I ever get married I’d like to have 2 daughters because I wouldn’t know how to look after a boy baby, before I turn 30” Well I did get married at 22, had a daughter at 26, & a 2nd daughter at 29 & months! My eldest daughter has had 2 little daughters, & the younger of our daughters..hasn’t started her family yet. She only met Mr Right 13 months go.
