I recently bought a glass kettle which is brilliant -someone told me not to use plastic ones and as I take notice of things like this, I went out and bought this fancy glass one.

I do occasionally also boil on the gas hotplates, if I am cooking pasta/rice, however still find it much quicker to put in the electric kettle -even though gas is supposed to be quick, I think in the case of water, electric seems to work better for me.

If I'm making tea I use the kettle (and sometimes also for the washing up water). If I'm cooking I'll boil it in a pot on the stove.
Usually I will use a kettle if I need a lot of water!! Otherwise I just do it in a saucepan for small amounts.
In a kettle.

I use a Electric kettle, but! I found out they zap your electricity.Like it costs a fair few pennies to use one of them.

If cooking I use the E kettle, and then put into the pan.I haven't got time to wait for it on the stove....My 22 yr old son, is dying of hunger...growling like a bear, so I have to cook real quick!
Dying of hunger? LOL!

In a pot or a kettle depends on why I am boiling it
Depends what I need the water for. I use a kettle usually.

I boil mine on stove. Do not have a kettle yet.
I use my electric kettle to boil water, i do this everyday as this how i get my drinking water.
I'm lucky to have a cast-iron wood heater / oven. In the winter I boil a big ol' kettle on top. Otherwise it's the standard electric kettle.
Gas kettle - we reckon it actually tastes better.

Sunbeam Electric Kettle for tea etc or their Electric Saucepan, if boiling spuds, for mashed spuds. Billy, if camping, over fire.
For tea and coffee: my glass electric kettle. Pasta or steaming veges: saucepan on the stove. Occasionally, one cup in the microwave, mainly if there is a behemoth in the kitchen standing in the way of the kettle and I want my cup of tea NOW.

I have also changed to glass, Rice! Much "cleaner" somehow

Oh, Finy, I just love my glass kettle!

Always boil the electric kettle for our cups of tea, & to fill the saucepan to cook the spaghetti in. (The other pasta I cook in the microwave.)
