Although I have a big fridge for one person, it is often not big enough.
I had a big clean out yesterday and threw a lot out however when I make something in a large dish and then also an accompaniment for the meal in another casserole dish, plus dessert, I find the fridge is not big enough.
Also because I cook a lot, I also seem to have left overs and freeze a lot and my freezer is always so full I cannot open it.
I have bought 2 freezers mainly to hold my dog food, and I have now moved half the food from my main freezer into the one in the garage so it is not so full.
If I had a bigger fridge again, which would be ludicrous for one person, I think I would still fill it up!
I have always had, and shall always have, a WHITE fridge as well!!! I think the silver ones are fine if you have someone there to do all of your housework and cleaning, but when, like me, you like life to be as easy as possible, white is the way to go!!! They are not called White Goods for no reason!!!! I do not even LIKE the way the silver ones look!! But this is just MY taste!
We bought a big fridge when we renovated the kitchen, and usually it is big enough. However during December, when we host lots of Christmas and break-up parties every weekend, it can get stretched to its limits. Fortunately, we have another fridge in the shed which is handy for just such occasions, when we need extra room.
Both fridge and freezer are a good size for two people. I clean my fridge out once a week before I do shopping, or the leftovers would grow fur on it. My freezer I clean twice a year. As cooking is not my favorite activity I always make enough to freeze an extra meal.
No, there's only 2 of us using it, so it's big enough. 1 of our daughters has an old fridge from '50's/60/s & it's 1/2 the size of ours, & there's 4 in her family. (They all all vegetarians though, so they don't need a meat keeper,) & the freezer is tiny!
Fridges are never big enough . . .are they? I am hoping that mine is going to last a while longer and I think I have enough room in the freezer section for dog meat. I don't eat much meat so the body of the fridge will be for my veges and fruit, butter, milk and cream plus sundries. I should have heaps of room. (famous last words . . . )
I live alone so my fridge is a great size for me.It has a super freezer too which holds heaps, though I do also have a small upright freezer which I tend to keep quite full. I tend to buy when items are on special so having the extra freezer space is perfect for me. I like to be able to store lots of fresh fruit and vegies as living in the warm tropics of Nth Qld, I tend to eat a great deal of these items, especially fruit!!
