A common Irish legend claims that a pot of gold can be found at the end of a rainbow, and if one can evade the Leprechaun that guards it, the gold is theirs.

Do you believe gold is to be found at the end of a rainbow?

What you want to believe is true. Rainbows are beautiful, and I think pots of gold are too - absolutely - yes.

My children and I once tried to find the end of the rainbow. Where ever we drove it was still miles away. It was great fun and taught them more than any verbal explanation.
Personally I always think seeing a rainbow is a good as gold. One special day I watched the rainbow grow and then disappear - all in matter of minutes. It was amazing.
That's beautiful. :)

If only. But since no one has ever come to the end of a rainbow, who knows.
I bet somebody does! :P

I keep looking Vee - I even reckon I can see the end of the rainbow sometimes but sadly I've yet to find that elusive pot of gold.
Good on you Therese, it always helps to hope.

No, it's a nice idea and a lovely story, but there is no Leprechaun or pot of gold.
Not sure but I do know that every time I see one they make me smile. So perhaps the gold is in the rainbows ability to make you smile?
I don't believe there is or we would have heard about people claiming it.
Would it be replenished each new rainbow or each time someone found it.

There is no "end" to the rainbow anyway I don't think, as the closer you seem to get, the rainbow seems to go on and on!

Those are some good questions, Finy. ;)

A beautiful legend but, sadly, no. I guess the idea could be used as a metaphor though.
