Is the casualisation of Australia's workforce impacting women more than men?

It seems that in recent years there has been a trend to offer jobs as casual which may have previously been part time or even full time, leaving workers without annual and personal leave entitlements.

Do you think this trend has impacted more on women than it has on men?

Because women are more likely to seek part time work than men they are more likely to fall into casual positions.

I have some moral issues with employers hiring women for fixed times positions as casuals rather than permanent part timers. I seems to result in neither party taking the position as seriously as it should.
Yes Gayle, I agree. Have noticed it a lot in hospital workers.

Yes it has more on women than men.

I think because women have the role of Mother-Kids-school etc.

I think that they are paid more as casual, I may be wrong on this point. this makes up for the annual leave entitlements etc.
means they can go on holidays when it suits them also be able to be at home in school holiday time
