This question does not really apply to me as I am retired, so basically I have my whole life off to do what I want.

If I were still working however, and 20 years younger like many of you on here, I would perhaps like to tour the world at my own leisure though that possibly would not work as I have always owned animals and would not like to leave them for a year.

I would like to live in several countries for about a month or two at a time

I don't think I would change what I'm doing. If I'm unhappy then I do things differently. Life is short!
Well if I was paid, I would travel.

That is something I did as a child with my mother, and miss it.
Go to France and have some fun....fun....fun!
I'm semi-retired so get to do some of the things I wish I had time to do. But a year with no work at all would see me travelling too if I could afford it. Life is, indeed, too short!
The thought of having a year off is slightly scary. If I had a year off to spend with myself, I would spend it building some websites, learning a new programming language or perfecting my skills on a musical instrument. Or I would travel with my family to small Caribbean Islands.
I'm the same as Jonaj - if I was still being paid then it would be travel, travel, travel! And if there was any time left, maybe do a big clean out of all my cupboards! :)
a year off would propably be useless as i don't have the cash to make it useful
Go somewhere warm sunny and quiet, relax do not watch TV or listen to the radio and meditate.
Possibly visit an alternative lifestyle country.
