If you know it's going to be a hot day, do you turn the air on before it heats up, or when the heat has well and truly arrived?

I put the air conditioner on when I feel hot, not before that. What a waste of money and electricity it would be if I put it on before it got hot, when it wasn't needed
No, I don't use the air conditioner much. Even if the forecast is for a very hot day sometimes there is enough of a through breeze that I don't feel like I need it.
For us, we tend to put it on the minute we know the heat is upon us.So about 10:30 - 11 a.m.
I don't like to wait too long, I think it also helps the house that much more to keep an even temp.
We have evaporative air and if it's going to be a sweltering day we will turn it on before the outside temperature gets to 30 otherwise it can't cope and we don't get cool.
I do this when I am going to work and it is above 30°.
I put the airconditioner on timer so that it is cool for my precious dogs, and also cool when I walk in as I hate a hot house when I have worked in air conditioning and driven home in a cool car!
Today it was like an oven very early so I put it on to beat the heat . . it is now 30 outside so I am glad I did, more for the dogs than myself really. I'm with Lluxi . . . >
