It’s so easy to dine at your favourite little restaurant every time you go for dinner that, before you know it, you’re in a food rut - going to the same place and ordering the same food.

If you’re going out for dinner, do you dine somewhere new or somewhere familiar? Does your choice depend on the occasion for which you are going, and have you ever been in a 'food rut'?

A mix of the two depending on what we feel like. But having said that, I live with a chef so I don't need to go out much LOL
Lucky you meggf!

Take away we generally get from places we are familiar with - we don't get it often anymore but we have our favourites! We used to make an effort when going out to go to a different place everytime, but we don't really get out much these days...Most restaurants frown at 2 noisy toddlers!!
LOL I have to wait for my son's to take me out for dinner.
I can't really afford it myself, so I have to go to where they like.
Normally it is a big fancy Chinese place we normally go.
I do like Yum-Cha, so it's not too bad..
For special occasions like birthdays my family like to go to our favourite thai restaurant. If it is lunch/dinner out after movie, shopping trip, or other day out, I like to try somewhere new.
Love trying new places but if I am taking someone out I would rather go to a place I know.
Nah, I am not in a food rut as I write for Review Clue and if I went to the same one, I could not do reviews!

Anyway, I like to try new places.
There is one I would like to go back to but somehow I rarely go back apart from two that are very close by.

I buy a lot of half price vouchers for restaurants online so they are rarely the same ones.

I am always on the look out for new places to try.

Old favourite restaurants are comfortable but we will end up ordering the same dishes. So unless I am craving for that particular dish, I will try to explore.

Always somewhere different. Fall back to the 'oldies' every now & again!
We do have our favourites. However, if we are going out somewhere special, we always like to try new eateries.
I used to like choosing different places for my birthday dinner with all my family. Now my husband doesn't like driving at night, we just eat at the lovely restaurant & bar down the road, which is a 5 min walk from our house. The restaurant is 'upstairs, & 1 can look over our river during day light saving time! We go there for our birthdays, (just the 2 of us) & our wedding anniversaries!
That sounds really lovely.
