Some parents can only afford to buy their kids toys as gifts, while other parents buy toys for their kids quite often. Buying toys could also serve as a rewards mechanism. How often do you buy toys for your kids?
I only buy junior toys for his birthday and Christmas. He gets weekly pocket money, so he has to save up for anything that he wants in between. If it is a large ticket item that he wants to buy, I may contribute a certain amount, but for the most part he buys things himself when he saves up.
