Some people can focus on a task and keep concentrating on it for a long time, whereas others find their mind flits from one thing to another like a butterfly and find it hard to concentrate on one thing only for any length of time.
How long is your concentration span?
My concentration span is about 30 minutes for most tasks - watching a tv programme or film, listening to the radio, surfing the net or back when I was at college, I just used to switch off after half an hour of lecture! The one thing I can do for hours and hours and hours is read. If only I got the chance to do that these days! I used to get completely lost in a good book....
It is good I would say, but there are times when under stress....I'm a tad lacking.
I can go for 2-3 hours just fine.
I do have a stressful job, and have been in jobs that demand my attention, to fine detail.
Because I also analyze things all the time, that keeps me on the ball.
As one gets older, esp women they can loose a fair amount of attention span. That is one reason you see a lot of add's on t.v., about 'training the mind'.
The sooner one starts, and keeps doing it....you will be ok...Like anything, the more exercise you give it, the better.
For anyone who is concerned, playing a game on the computer, 60 mins a day...will be most helpful....It has been proven a good tool.
30 minutes enough - I need to move around a bit and then refocus. Late realisation in life. Why leaving school didn't bother methough I did feel losing out not going to uni. I'm more of active learner. Do wish I'd known myself better and studied longer.
Bridge amazing for me. Easy ish to get into, harder to master, forever challenging and addictive.
