Children are creative bundles of joy. Or at least they are unashamed enough to try. When they bring home the latest squiggle drawing how do you show them to dream? How do you encourage their creative potential, whether through art, acting, dancing or any other outlets.

I think all children are creative in their own way. Best to go with what they like doing. You will soon see creative work transforming into something amazing!
I put my daughter's artwork up on the wall or the fridge and encourage her to draw sometimes by drawing with her or playing drawing games (eg. Simon says draw a cat). She also loves to dance, and I watch her when she wants to perform for me at home, and she has been going to ballet classes all year.
You continue to just keep showing them that you are interested, and love what they do.............simple.

I told my son that one abstract painting my 3 yr old granddaughter had done was worthy to frame.
I told him it was gallery quality....So he bought a small gold gilded frame, and
hung the art work.
It was a stark white background, with black design. It looked wonderful!

So pick out something you can frame, even if it is only small....put in a nice frame and see your child's reaction.(make sure you hang it).

Dance is also encouraged with some nice music...or happy hip-hop kids music.Clap and dance along too...... you show you are very happy with your child, see how that child will be inspired to continue to do more.

It is All in the encouragement of a parent or parents.
Praise them and stay interested in what they're doing. Allow them to pick and choose their own paints and other creative equipment so to speak.
Thankyou for the lovely comments ladies :)
by doing art at home, by showing by example that making and experimenting is a very natural thing to do. our home is filled with the girls' artwork which we hand with artwork by other artists. just as fantastic and special
