I have seen quite a lot of Australia, though I have not been to WA,except when I was just 4 years old and very ill in the hospital on the ship which we as a family were returning from England on after a family wedding. I have been to Tas,NT, ACT, SA,Vic. NSW and of course Qld which I have extensively travelled in since coming here in 1980.
I live in Qld and the only part I haven't really been to is up Cape York. We want to do a big camping trip up there - probably after we have our next baby (and I'm not even pregnant yet!!) and it's old enough for travel. We've also travelled through most of NSW and Victoria. The Eastern half of SA and most of the Northern Territory. We haven't been to WA or Tassie yet. We mostly travel by car so we get to see lots of things - love checking out the "big" things, wineries, zoos and wildlife parks
I live in Sydney & have spent a week in W.A. a long time ago, with friends who moved there from Harare. 2 of my cruises have called into Fremantle
twice for the day. I've been to the A.C.T a few times. I visited a friend in Norwood, S.A. in Jan '70. When a nephew died, I visited Adelaide for his funeral, then visited his mother for 3 weeks during the Sept school holidays for 3 years, to help out at the Roadhouse she ran with my brother. When my brother died, 3 years ago, I was over there again for his funeral. 'Our' 2 cruise ships have called in there twice. We visited the art gallery & museum. Wonderful. I've also visited the N.T. to stay with a friend 3 times. I've stayed with friend In Q'ld. Our cruise ship called into Townsville & Cairns. Another time I went up there with a friend who hired a car, & 'we' drove all over the place! Noosa was beautiful back then. Another time, my husband & I fly to Brisbane for the day to see an art exhibition at the Brisbane gallery. Last year we went to Coolangatta for a day with our youngest daughter to look at her block of land she's trying to sell. Victoria? I took my eldest daughter down there once for the day, to look at an exhibition of my father's art. Then years later she moved there, & then years later her sister moved there, so we fly down about 5 times a year. (I just can't make myself go down in winter.) So yes, i have been to all the Oz states. 1 day I'd love to drive around Tasmania with my husband. (Well he'd beee doing all the driving!) We have a friend who owns a cafe with his wife, so we hope to be able to visit them & help them on out their farm or at the cafe, if they were busy, as they are in the summer.
