Here in Australia we're very fortunate to have many great competitions with all sorts of awesome prizes, large and small. Have you ever won a big prize in a competition? Which company held the competition, what was the prize and what did you do to win?

Yes! I won my first ever camera in a raffle and still use it to this day! It's so pretty and in my favourite colour too! :D
And your favourite colour, Xarah, is...?

I've never won anything that I can recall as significant, not even a raffle prize. I don't think I'm lucky with competitions.
No, other than a box of chocolates, I have never won a big price -have all but given up on entering now due to this sad fact.
Some people win often and yet others never do.

No...I would say that I definitely was not hit with the lucky stick!
My husband and won $2,000 from a lottery ticket 38 years ago.
That's it!
Not yet. I'm going to win a car in a Lion's raffle one day though, I just know it!
Biggest was an ipad mini. I hope I've won lotto when I check this morning...
I've only ever won some books in competitions. However, being the big book nerd that I am, I consider these big prizes, and have always been thrilled. Plus, I've found some of my favourite books this way, so it really has been win/win.
No, never. Im a sucker for entering! A few years ago my neighbor won a new car.
I haven't but my Godmother's daughter one "Mum Melt the Ice" competition in 1973... She had to guess how long it would take a large block of ice encasing a bottle of roll on deodorant to melt.... and she won by about a minute.
Sorry, forgot to add, my Godmother's daughter won a car however she had it for a couple of weeks then ran straight into the back of a light blue car which happened to be the same colour of the sky, which is why she didn't see it.
I've never won a big prize but quite a few smaller ones.
Years ago I won $10,000.00 in a competition run by a local club. I've also won a laptop and printer in competitions as well as several small lotto prizes and an all expenses paid interstate trip for 4 but the company who provided the trip just disappeared into thin air so never did experience that one.
You should have reported them to the ACA programme on Channel 9. What a mean thing to do to you. That is NOT fair.

Hi Miro. Yes I did report them and no amount of searching by Consumer Affairs could track them down. No doubt they will be hit by a big dose of karma.

When I was 11, I won a Watch each, for my Parents', & myself, through a TV competition.
My Father had that watch to his dying day.

Other than that, just mini-amounts on Lotto!
Cant's say I've won a big prize like a car or any thing like that, but I won a magazine subscription for about a month, and I was happy with that, and I won a crochet blanket from my mum's retirement village in a raffle that was ok, I did'nt expect to win, I gave it more as a donation as they weren;#'t selling many tickets.
No, nothing big, just a lot of small prizes, that I answered on another of these questions, some time ago. A friend's father took a lottery ticket to the newsagents, thinking he'd won $5, but he'd actually won $25,000!
