Have you ever tried face painting? Do you think chemicals used for face painting are good for skin?

I haven't done it myself, but my kids went through a stage where every time they went to a festival they wanted their face painted. It probably isn't great for the skin, but they would only have it on for a couple of hours two or three times a year so I don't think it would do much harm.
I haven't done face painting (at least in my adult years). Unless you count oiling a deck and getting it all over my face. In which case I did that this weekend!

The chemicals in face paint probably aren't ideal, but one would hope that they'd be pretty safe to use with kids.
I had to do it at daycare, and I was really bad at it...would the chemicals be bad? Isn't it the same as makeup?
No. I find it pretty weird to get my face painted
No I haven't, tried face painting:

I think it is o.k. once in a while, and as long as you use the good
face painting paints...your fine.

I don't think one would do it every week, just to be sure.
I face paint my son and my friends kids as a bit of a hobby . As long as you use kid safe face paint then you're pretty safe. There are a number of good makes for facepainting and these are safe for young sensitive skin. The facepaints to watch out for are the cheap ones in crayon form from the $2 shop etc, which have not gone through the same safety checks. I do find that too much facepaint (e.g. an all over design) can dry the skin, so a good kids moisturiser after you have washed it off is a good idea
Yes I did, and it was the most beautiful butterfly, it seemed a shame to have to wash it off. Had to though because I didn't think they would appreciate the look when I went to work.
There are 'natural', or at least non-toxic face paints which I would try.
