Yes, I have when we were living in the country and my partner had a horse.
He bought a buggy and I had a ride in it though was petrified as he knew little about it.
He went on to take another friend and the horse bolted and the buggy was smashed....luckily the friend was OK, but makes a funny story.
I would love to go on the Horse and buggy rides which were operated as part of the open days for many historical houses when I was in Victoria. I loved them!! The sound of the horses' hooves was so delightful, and really seemed to take me back through time!!
Yes, when a teenager, not only did I drive/ride in one, but also had to ready all for the Show Ring.
The number of straps that required to be placed correctly, from horse to buggy were numerous, plus the 'pole' each side of the horse. It was a great feeling driving around, so leisurely, & 'oldy-worldly'.
Also was driven in one from 'Sheraton' ship to Karnak Temple, Egypt. Surprisingly, the horse was well-fed, & in good condition. Many of them, & donkeys', in that country, aren't.
Oh yes. Many times. I have been in a horse and buggy at farms and historic pioneer villages. There are also horse and buggy rides that take you around the sights in most major capital cities. I have done that. When my girlfriend was planning her wedding, she wanted to arrive in a horse and buggy, but it would have been too far for the horse, so she arrived in a nice car instead.
