Yes I used to breed them both as per the picture!
I loved having them, and though some of the geese were sometimes nasty, and would not always let me pat them, they were characters.
The Indian Runner ducks were also very funny and quirky, and all had different personalities and made us laugh.
The geese looked so lovely swimming on our lake every day, and squawking if someone entered the property.

The one on the left looks just like my boy. He was a sweetheart.

I have probably patted them briefly but never had a good cuddle of one.
Even my chooks are too nervous to enjoy a cuddle. I think Mum had the occasional Drake when we were kids, but they weren't around long enough to get to know.
If I have a chook that needs medical attention I can handle them without causing stress but the rooster tries to tell the hens that I am going to kill them. He makes the flock nervous with that kind of talk.
Yes, cuddled many of both as I have had both.

Never touched this animal.
There's 2 animals mentioned in this question, Dwatk, so do you mean you haven't touched either/neither of these animals?!!!
by Miro
No
but have been chased by them!
not by a duck?
by Finy
Yes by a duck! we had two 40 years ago, big white ones...and they chased me all the time.

I got mauled by a rooster when I was around 4 or 5. Ripped my back up. It was another 20 years before I could go near chooks at all. Then I had my own darling chookies plus a gorgeous rooster and all was well. ^_^

Oh, I forgot one small point . . . he was IN the pen and he flew out over the high fence . . .so he was in full flight when he landed on me. I was really was terrified . . . . and this was a child who ADORED animals so it was shocking to me 00

Yes. We took the kids to plenty of farms over the years, and petting zoos, too numerous to mention. The animals are usually quite tame. A farm near us has at least 30 ducks and geese living on their dam. I'm sure that they would be friendly to the farmer !!! Another farm near us, which opens its doors to the public in Spring and Autumn every year, has geese and ducks. I couldn't get close enough to these birds to pat them, and the geese were chasing me away, so no pats from them.
Lluxi, How do geese pat YOU, when they were chasing you away!? Ha ha (Re-read you last 2 words, please.)
by Miro
Yes but only at petting zoos. I have never kept them as a pet.
I have been around both birds but I have never patted them
by AJ
Yes I've patted ducks but not geese
Yes had some ducks as pets and geese make great watch" dogs" they will go after anyone that does not belong....
Yes I have patted a duck and a duckling,I find geese can be a bit quirky,so I'd rather not pat one.
I find that geese are very much like dogs. As long as you are boss dog, your calves are free from being bitten . . . . LOL. Oh, those beaks!

I have patted ducklings and ducks before but never a goose. This may be geese look pretty but seem nasty. I will never forget going to the cemetery to visit my Dads grave not long after he died and saw my sister being chased across the cemetery by two hissing geese. She had gone to touch one and they started chasing her. It was pretty funny, once we saved her. It was the first time we had laughed in months. Nevertheless, neither of us have touched a goose since.
No no no no noway. Very comfortable with any animal as long as there is a fence between me and them.
I patted a duck in the second grade.

Ducks are soooo cute and they always look like they are wagging their tails for you. Mine followed me everywhere . . . but they do so much mullagumby . . . . *splot*

I'm not overly fussed on ducks or geese but did own an Indian duck which mum rescued when it landed in our yard. We called it Wacky and it used to adore being picked up and carted around the yard. Unfortunately a stray dog got into our yard and ravaged it. Mum was great with animals and tried to patch him up but unfortunately he couldn't be saved. A very sad time for all of us.
No I haven't. I've eaten a lot of duck and cooked spuds in goose fat but never patted them.
Yes, we used to have a cute little yellow duck as a pet but unfortunately it died for some unknown reason.
by sns
No, neither have I patted either of these birds, (?) But I have put a few small (plastic) ducks, in our granddaughters baths. I guess you'd see a few people being chased by ducks & geese on You Tube! I would imagine it would be very scary at the time, but funny a long, long time later, like on You Tube!
